Upcoming Show – Sept. 20-21 – Birmingham
Fall greetings from my studio.
I am looking forward to my upcoming exhibition, which will be on September 20th and 21st in Birmingham Michigan at the Common Ground’s Birmingham Street Art Fair.
This will be my second show this year in Birmingham and I’ll have some new etchings to on display. I’m always happy to stay over with my good friends and a few of my biggest art collectors live there.
As an aside, the show is only five and a half hours from my studio, which is an additional treat. I say only because many of my shows, like Chicago, Philadelphia, Baltimore and New York, are at least 8 or 9 hours away. A few yearly shows, like the Cherry Creek Arts Festival in Denver and the Main Street Art Festival in Ft. Worth are days away. I confess that I do enjoy the travel time to and from my art shows; the studio work is done for a while and behind me. I take with me books on CD, my music and satellite radio, and I have lots of time to contemplate and muse. Many of my most creative ideas are hatched on the road.
The hand colored etching and aquatint you see is called ‘Tree Fall’. I just finished it. Framed it’s about 47” tall x21” wide. I continue to enjoy leaving large negative spaces in my some of my new images.
I hope you like it and that I will see you at the show.
